***Official*** England in Pakistan

Salman Butt warned for running on the pitch. What the hell is Darrell Hair thinking?! The man's running was perfectly fine, he was stepping on the pre existing footprints. I hope this doesn't affect his concentration.

Yeah that was a ridiculous warning.
Just reinforces my point that umpires are far too concerned with this running on the pitch...and then getting other things like LBWs wrong...

The pitch is so slow and just not good for test cricket right now. Maybe Afridi was just trying to do all of us a favour and make the test more interesting?

I kid I kid :p

Waqar has been repeating from yesterday that the kookabura ball should not be used in Pakistan. The Duke ball is far better in these conditions.

I completely agree. For any one who does not know, the kookabura ball has a very think seam compared to the Dukes ball - not an ideal thing in such a scenario.

Hoaggard gets the wicket. Not one of the spinners it must be noted. England should just persist with bowling with the seamers as much as they can but some how they have much more hope from Giles and co.

This test has reinforced your comment the other day about how England should be approaching these series. There seems to be an increasingly good case for taking a risk on Plunkett in he 3rd test. He could go for lots, of course, but our "spinners" just don't look up to scratch. If Giles' injury has something to do with it, he shouldn't be playing anyway.

Pakistan made the right decision IMO. After watching what Freddie & co could do with a Duke ball, there wasn't really any option..

This is very frustrating.

I think the umpires are being unduly strict here. And it must be a pretty constant nagging strain in the back of the mind of the batsmen.

Without watching the slowmo, the LBW seems like it could have gone either way. (I'd have given it out 6 times out of 10)
