The chuckers were cleared at the University of Western Australia. The Bell catch was pretty much as clear of a case of cheating as the Afridi dance.Scaly piscine said:Where have the chuckers been cleared? And no blatant, deliberate and pre-meditated cheating is not cancelled out by claiming a catch that is inconclusive on the replays.
Oh, yeah. We saw similar hijinks out here over a decade later with Ranatunga and Ross Ermerson (who was never going to get an apology, like Rana did). In some ways it was worse, 'cause at one stage Ranatunga was physically shoving Emerson into the position he wanted him to stand in for Murali's deliveries.luckyeddie said:Gatting and Shakoor Rana.
These new guys are *****cats when it comes to confrontation.
Yeah like:ClownSymonds said:They are hated for that and a variety of other reasons. Not just by Australians, either.
Ha, I'd forgotten about that. I think that was the only one-dayer the Sri Lankans won that series.Jono said:Symonds was brought back on in the ODI series when Australia toured SL back in 2004. I remember him chopping a ball on his pads, the umpire gave it out and then realised how stupid a mistake he made. He asked Jayasuriya (or whomever was captain, I think it was him) if Symonds could come back and he did. SL won anyway.
They could have done that this time couldn't they?
Funny that a guy like you is taking that comment seriously. Doubly so in the presence of an emoticon.yet you called for umpire Hair to be banned.
Why isn't the umpires decision a violation? I gather it was the word 'violation' that initially inflamed you so??Is there any point in attempting to discuss anything at all with you? Without wishing to further inflame your already raw nerves, what point is it that I haven't addressed?
Where's the article then? And ones from months/years ago are irrelevant.ClownSymonds said:The chuckers were cleared at the University of Western Australia.
Link, please, to the 'Chuckers have just been cleared' evidence.ClownSymonds said:You're being ridiculous. The chuckers had just been cleared, and the Afridi incident is all but cancelled out by the Bell one. Pakistan still have a long way to go before they take England's title of most hated team.
I don't have time to go searching for it. They were both cleared since being reported last. You can either take my word for it or look it up yourself.Scaly piscine said:Where's the article then? And ones from months/years ago are irrelevant.
Nah they won the dead rubber as well. 3-2 the eventual scoreline.Slow Love™ said:Ha, I'd forgotten about that. I think that was the only one-dayer the Sri Lankans won that series.
From an earlier post....Beleg said:Why isn't the umpires decision a violation? I gather it was the word 'violation' that initially inflamed you so??
Now can we all calm down, please? You're sorry, I'm sorry, let's gang up on the real trouble-maker - ClownSymondsThere are two definitions of violation - one interpretation is that it is a minor transgression (this is an Americanism where they consider a violation to be less than a foul) and the other is where the transgression is far, far worse.
You chose the mild, American interpretation, everyone else chose the proper, English one (because we all know that Americans cannot speak English anyway - and that's a joke before you accuse me of racism as well as calling you names).
Yeah Beleg's a top poster. *shrugs*Slow Love™ said:A serious question: has Eddie got Beleg confused with somebody else? I always find the guy to be very reasoned and calm, and it seemed obvious that his "Ban Hair" line was a joke.
Probably a lot of frayed nerves after the day's play, maybe...
Yeah think there was a misunderstanding there, but it's all good, we're all good friends againSlow Love™ said:A serious question: has Eddie got Beleg confused with somebody else? I always find the guy to be very reasoned and calm, and it seemed obvious that his "Ban Hair" line was a joke.

Can this thread get any better?Scaly piscine said:Well the Shoaib pitch roughing incident has reminded me to rank Pakistan as most hated team. I thought they'd evolved from picking at the ball as they did 5-10 years ago, but obviously nothing has changed. The PCB can still limit a lot of the damage if they ban Afridi for a long time, but as far as I'm concerned this Test series should be abandoned, 2 chuckers in the first Test and now this.
