I don't think there will be a clearcut handing over the crown like from WI to Aus in 1995. I just don't see English cricket producing quite the quality of players to achieve that. In some ways though, what we're going to see over the next 5 years or so will be more interesting
It certainly will be interesting.

Within the next 2 - 3 years, Aus will lose 3 all-time greats in McGrath, Warne and Gilchrist. The last time something similar happened was in 82/83 when Marsh, Chappell, and Lillee left at the same time, producing one of the darkest periods in Aus cricket history.

Whilst I dont expect them to fall into the same abyss, it would be foolhardy to suggest that the team wont be weakened to a degree.

Can another team replace them as no.1? Of course.

Is there another team out there that potentially has world class players from 1 - 11 AND has the mental strength to perform under all scenarios? Probably no on both counts at present.

It all makes for a much more even playing field and more entertaining cricket.

So what came of it?
Enerson had a nervous break-down and retired, the ICC changed the bowling laws, and Ranatunga was first in line at the buffet.

Terrible. No wonder the umpires never call no-balls anymore. They really ought to though. Murali, Harbhajan, and many others are blatant chuckers.

interesting dilemma's for both side's now leading into the second test now. Firstly hopefully for England Trescothick doesn't have to go home because that i'll put real pressure on Vaughan & if neither plays England wil be in serious problems.

Pakistan now have Shabbir & Malik called for chucking again, so probably Rana may come in for Shabbir & Afridi may get in their someone since probably Malik wont do much bowling in faisalabad..

Can anyone name the Pakistan vs England test when *three* guys were dismissed for 99, including 2 Pakistanis in the same innings? Must be a record.
I think that happened in Karachi in one of the seventies tour??

Sorry, my memory is getting prematurely bad. :(

My thoughts exactly, Shabbir looks like one of the most blatant chuckers I've seen tbh, but Malik looked fine to me.
Did he look fine because he couldn't show good performance with the ball?

Hahaha, how absurd. I make a sarcastic, silly, light-hearted joke, and all of the sudden I am a "flaime baiter".

So Tresco's staying in - good choice, that. Cricket over family - as it should be. After all, cricket is the most important thing God ever created on Earth.

Don't be your usual self, Shoaib.

Clown made a joke - a good one too.

As far as Shoaib Malik and Shabbir are concerned, are you actually suggesting that it's the big bad international conspiracy against Pakistan again, or do you think that the officials might have a case? Seeing as the TV umpire is a Pakistani, and he had more opportunity to study their actions than anyone else, don't you think that he would have been in the best position to suggest that it was all an optical illusion and their actions were squeaky-clean?

Instead, he is one of the co-accusers. Why do you think that is?
