Playing a Test at this ground is some kind of a sick joke. A 50m mi**** goes for 6. ICC should ban this from ever happening again. Some kind of minimum boundary length should be brought in for International matches.

There is one, it's 70 metres iirc, but any ground where tests were played pre-2007 are exempt.

Well, there is - 65m IIRC - but if the ground hosted test cricket before 2006 or something it is exempt.

Edit: beaten, and got my numbers wrong...

Apparently the straight boundary at Eden Park is only 3 metres shorter than at Hamilton. Strangely nobody ever seems to moan too much about Seddon Park's boundaries, maybe because it's a proper circular cricket ground.

Radio Comm: "the Rangitoto Island End". Why not the Equator End, or Japan End
That's ridiculous.

Although, actually, what are the end names, now that the pitch has been repositioned? Cricinfo's Eden Park page still says Broadcasting/Terraces, but that's clearly not it any more - the terraces are gone, for starters...

The ICC boundary requirements, like the bent elbow Murali rule, was designed to not change anything.

Rutherford :( Got over-excited

Edit: Particularly silly when it's just before lunch and now Williamson has to come in and face a few overs

This guy commentating with Nash is annoying. Just describe the ball and then let Nash continue with his anecdotes, dick.

Your not filling in time between callers....

Will we ever find out what he was going to say about Mark Ramprakash?

Well, if you'd offered me 79/1 at lunch after being sent in, I would've bitten your hand off. But as it is, I'm really annoyed at Rutherford getting out. Was so unnecessary.

Don't think there's much wrong with the pitch, looks to have decent bounce and carry, but like I said earlier England have bowled far too short.
