This is just straight garbage from Southee. Club batsmen would put this away.

Nathan Smith on as sub fielder must be seething watching the pressure from the other end just dissipate.

Especially as apart from the already dismissed Duckett and Root, England are poor against spin. Pope in particular has really struggled.

After that series in India I really though Latham's captaincy might be strong enough to take brave decisions.

He didn't bowl Sodhi at all in the last test which was a very brave call.

This series he bowled Glenn Phillips after lunch in Hagley rather than a 145 kph fastbowler.

He's now persisting with a retiring bowler who has been an absolute faucet.
