We are playing a lot more test cricket in 2026, but NZC are definitely looking to condition the NZ public to the idea that we’ll be playing less test cricket at home.

We usually only get good crowds at home for ODIs and T20s so that's understandable I guess.

A test series against England is one of the only test series we get good crowds at home and we're disappointing all the NZ test fans that have turned up

you can't go through the motions against England. You need to put them outside of their comfort zone. Pakistan found that in the first test, saw they were weak to spin, and put out 2 minefields in the next 2 tests. India did similar. NZ need to be more proactive in unsettling England because at this rate England could put up 500 in this innings
