It's probably sacrilegious to say it but I'm remembering why I was pleased when Sky didn't renew Gower's contact.

Gorgeous day for batting so Mitchell should be able to ton up hopefully along with daybootant Smith.
Should get a lead of 300+ and then trundle England out tomorrow in overcast conditions and a deteriorating pitch.

Can I have a drink of what you are having ?

I'm no cricket captain. I do think you generally should do what the opposition would least like.

However in the 3rd over of the day England bowled the 4th seamer with no slips.

I see England are going to the dull policy of not trying to hit the stumps nor lbws

This usually gets the opposition team runs and quickly

no slips either but a man deep at third

They do this regularly at tail end of an innings. It rarely works

I have no idea what the bowling plan is, but it’s not working. Both bats look super comfortable with this strategy.

It’s obvious. They’ve done it plenty of times before. Top edges to boundary fielders and not bothering with the wicket or lbw

Wait till you wake up tomorrow morning and see the scorecard. You'll need something strong I suspect.
If they don’t start bowling athe stumps or for lbws, I’ve no doubt New Zealand will be batting tomorrow

this tactic never works. The only do this after getting the better batsmen out but then go to bouncers at 6 wickets down. Completely insane

They went to the short ball early because there's very little movement on offer now. But it is all a bit reductive and predictable.
