It's not the way we do things of course, but would really prefer Phillips play the big shots and Henry and the rest of the tail bat for him.
Just this once.

Yeah Henry and Southee actually do have reasonable defensive techniques when they decide to use them, especially Southee.

Don't want to jinx him but Henry is looking in good touch hitting a couple of nice boundaries, he looks better playing shots than just defending.

The stage is set for a Philips special here. To turn a middling total into an imposing one. Another 80-100 runs could be pretty game changing now. He's capable of doing it in about an hour if he goes full beast mode.

He is great at changing the momentum of matches with both bat and ball and in the field as well, a valuable all round cricketer.

This over rate is so ridiculous once again that there is an argument that it is a form of cheating - whereby your main bowlers are getting extra rest and preventing the batting side from cashing in at the end of the day. Obvs harder for the batrers to start again the next day but the bowlers get to be fresh. Only solution is ban the captain for a match each time. Have they stopped doing this?

That is infuriating - Henry had actually struck a fairly good balance between defense and his natural game except charging Bashir a few times. We're going to strand Phillips on 45* yet again.

That wasn't too clever from Henry, now we need Southee to bat sensibly which isn't ideal with his track record.
