Will be interesting to see how Archer goes in the tests. He seems very much a 0 or 100 kinda guy, and I imagine he'll step it up for the real matches

Good knock by Phillips, but a touch disappointed he didn't really kick on to a huge score - 260/4, you're on 100+, Blundell at the other end getting set, flat pitch, don't give them a sniff, 265/5 can easily become 300 all out. A double ton against a full strength attack would also really push his claim (noting we've already selected our squad for the whole test season for some ****ing reason).

Is a couple of days late, but great watching Finn Allen highlights. Agree with previous comments about Auckland not playing him in PS so far - why wouldn't you maximise his game time? "Hi Sean Solia, how about opening?"

Hope Phillips /Seifert are up for it, because it's quite a drop off in quality after that (Broom and Rutherford specifically, can't comment on Hay),until Young and Conway are in the mix.

3 day game. Plenty of time for a proper bat. NZ A bowling attack is 4 good FC specialists (2 are occasional test players) and 3 all rounders so should be proper bowling all day.

The CS version will have more teams and bigger squads, and then imperfect bots drafting Second XI filler players for each side.

So it's... possible, especially at that last stage. At the moment he's apparently the 410th best batsman in the world, wedged in between Forster Mutizwa and Subhranshu Senapati, mainly propped up by Futures League cricket.

Love it, that's pretty incredible.

I remember Mutizwa, actually has a pretty good FC record by Zimbabwe standards and wasn't terrible in the few ODIs he played, perhaps unlucky not to get a longer run at international level. Horse has probably bolted now though

Seifert and Neesham would probably feel they've wasted a bit of an opportunity here, ditto Jamieson. Ravindra probably did as expected tbh and a good learning experience for the lad. Philips should be much higher in the reserve bat pecking order now.
