yeah he looked too good for that. top 4 a'callingAt the moment fine, but I can't see Root as a long-term option at 6.
cook given out wrongly again? This just makes up for the times Cook was out in the first and second test when he was not given, right? Right?

Trott's boosted our run-rate
Sort of, but low-risk scoring on this pitch looks almost impossibleEngland in Adelaide 2006 mode here. That ended well.
Root plays more shots usually, just adapted to the pitch very well I think. Some people will get a pleasant surprise I think once he is a settled member of the side.Clearly the batting order can be tweaked. You can make a case for KP dropping to 5 (he'll do as he's told now), Morgan or Bairstow at 6; but a top 4 of Cook, Compton, Trott and Root has, shall we say, an attritional look to it.
That match has been referred to many times by the comms, I can tell you.England in Adelaide 2006 mode here. That ended well.
And as I said before, it's just been Cook really. Compton has batted exactly the same as he's batted all series and Trott has come out looking positive too; certainly by his standards.Sort of, but low-risk scoring on this pitch looks almost impossible
