Yup, only as "low" as that thanks to a penisy run out when looking in too.

Bell for Sammy and Onions for Broad would be my changes for the third.

I'm a long time Patel advocate, but he didn't quite do enough to convince as a test six and, Trotters's & Ding Dong's recent woes notwithstanding, hasn't the body of work behind him to warrant retention.
I'm trying to work out if you tried to put a fat joke in there.

Personally would keep with Samit, but that's mainly because after THAT shot I wouldn't be rushing Bell back in.

Been seen off twice, and that 26 was kind of vital. Also don't mind him being the 5th bowler in case the Indians stick it out, and we need to give Swann or Monty a breather.

Really not sure about who should replace Broad, just hope that someone does. Put in Tredders because the Indians clearly can't play spin:ph34r:

Why don't English fans rate Onions?

If anything on here they overate him - and underate others.

England's best team at the moment certainly includes Stuart Broad - and Ian Bell.

Too many who want to go back to the days of "one or two quiet games and you're dropped" - normally for a suposed 'form horse'.

I rate him, just think he's a bit similar to Anderson, who isn't really doing brilliantly.

It's all about differing disciplines, we ideally want someone who can bowl in short, sharp bursts, with Monty and Swann doing much of the bowling. Finn of course would be ideal.

Well Andersen is at least taking wickets..and is Finn ruled out of the whole series?

India should go for a slow turning road their batsman will put big runs on the board, the bowlers can then apply scoreboard pressure.

The only thing that gives me a little hope is that KP isn't known to do back to back big knocks too often is he? And I'd back our non performing losers more to come good over the next two games than Trott and Co. Yuvraj has to go though.
just going to wee on your chips with this little gem, KP would love to be the first English bat to get 23 test tons. Massage his ego perfectly, might mean he is even more focussed next game.

To be honest..not sure what else the strategy can be though..

Roads will end up in 1-1 and Dhoni will be criticized for negative cricket

Seaming conditions - India do not have seamers and I think India is scared of offering too much assistance to Andersen and co.

Spin friendly conditions are still India's best bet..also considering England still do have a weakness against spin apart from Cook, Prior and KP.
I think it should be pointed out that England's spinners put more revs on and turn the ball more than the Indian spinners. The reality is that bowlers like Ojha and Ashwin need to toss the ball up in order to get the same amount of turn as their English counterparts. As a result, the wankhede pitch played right into England's hands as raging turners are really what Panesar feasts on.

India's best bet for the series in terms of pitches are of the kind that we saw at Ahmedabad - slow turners or even flat pitches that negate England's pacers, allow the Indian batsmen to come into their element and also test the English batsmen in their ability to cash in and score big 100s.

An Indian batting lineup collapsing to foreign spinners at home is unacceptable. Even more so is being outbowled by foreign spinners.

Clean house. I'd rather lose with Baroda 2nd XI than accept this.
