I hadn’t seen the news on Rehan. Hope all okay there. Feels like an extraordinarily high number of players missing from this series as it goes on

Alastair Cook reckoned 250. Or, at least he described it as a 250 pitch. England's likely score of around 150 seems unlikely to be par, but I suppose we'll find out soon enough.
Not sure we can say 150 is likely while Root is still out there?

Obviously been out of nick but I struggle to think of another batsman alive you’d want out there with you on this deck

I was thinking the same. Never known a tour where so many have had to drop out. Family and health comes first though so hoping everything is OK with Rehan.

Bairstow was looking so good, shouldn't have thrown it away.
Root looking so much better when he isn't bazballing.
I reckon England have lost far more wickets to conventional sweep shots that reverse sweeps on this tour. Give me time and I'll work out what that actually proves.

He'll need a couple of blokes to stay with him though. And as you say, has form hasn't been stellar lately.

Tail doesn’t inspire me. Hartley appears to be a worthy Test 8 but Foakes has not often inspired me as a Test 7, and 9 down is certainly a worry. But in Joe we trust. Class is permanent etc
