He's dropped 4 catches ffs. He's done fine with the bat but one good innings doesn't mean he's pole vaulted over Saha, Rahul, and Dhawan in the pecking order.

I know Saha wasn't exactly Healy behind the stumps this series, but he was still miles ahead of what Parthiv showed behind the stumps. This little fifty of his would've meant nothing if England's batsmen had capitalized on even one if all those lives he gave them. He's not a good enough keeper to get in on his keeping strength, nor is he a good enough batsman to play as a specialist bat anywhere in the lineup , much less opening the innings. Once everyone is fit, bring back Rahul as opener and Saha as keeper down at 6/7. Phase Saha out for Pant in 1-2 years' time.
You really think I want him opening ahead of KL?

He would be good for number 6 or 7 in a 5 batsman approach.

It's his first game back. Keeping will improve. It's not easy keeping to Ashwin and Jadeja without any prep. He had 0 prep.

Thank you.. I guess on an average Parthiv will drop around 2 more chances per game imo. That is easily giving up 30-40 runs.
A dropped catch tends to cost a lot more. 50+ imo (especially because there's often a decent partnership afterwards as well!)

So 2 dropped catches is around 80-100 runs IMO

I was surprised to hear the cheer when they won the toss. You still have to go out and win the game. We got motivated by that actually.
Did England cheer on winning the toss?

Kohli is such a smug prick. If there's a god please let us draw this series.
Top tips from the Almighty:

1. Don't bat like idiots when the pitch is at its easiest for batting
2. Don't waste the new ball
3. Don't drop so many catches
4. Don't try and take on India with no-hopers like Batty in the side

And that's before we start on the squad that was selected for the tour in the first place.

Not that we're likely to beat India our here anyway, but we haven't helped our own cause, have we,

england clearly needed to show more #intent in the second test and blaze their way to glory in pursuit of 400.

If India loses the next test, last test will probably have the flatest deck of all, and the weather leading upto the Test in Chennai isnt too good either, so will be harder to prepare a result pitch there with less sun light.

Cooks just said a lot of the guys are going to Dubai during the time off.

If half of them don't stay there, with multiple Lions coming back to India on the plane. All the selectors need sacked.

They need sacked anyway but that's beside the point.
