Because he had the ball covered, maybe Anderson should have moved to the side and then tried to run him out if he wanted to, Vijay not moving meant he was not trying to obstruct the field.

Why were they checking the back foot though? Whether Vijay was in or not should be irrelevant to the fact that he didn't intentionally block the ball to prevent a run out. The procedure followed by the umpires there was a little concerning to me.
