*Official* England in Bangladesh

Terrible shot from Junaied that.

However the good news is that the groundsman has apparently said there's been minimal dew for the last week or so. Some sensible batting from here and our spinners might just do it for us.

Not been a great start from England at all. Sidebottom's first spell was atrocious, bowled far too wide and at his pace any international batsman could have taken him to the cleaners. He had Tamim dropped, but that delivery did not remotely deserve a wicket, was a horrible delivery. Just convinced me further that we need to bin him. He's been terrible in ODi cricket for a while now. I'd have played Tredwell in his place having thought about it, 4 seamers on this track is a waste, just shows our lack of dimension in the bowling attack, just basically 4 identical seamers and 1 spinner. Adil Rashid could have been a useful weapon on these pitches, but seeing that he's not been picked Tredwell should get his place, you really need 2 spinners in the subcontinent.

Swann will tie them in knots.
Shakib stumped. Now they think caught behind? Doesn't matter! Swanneh

19.3
Swann to Shakib Al Hasan, OUT, Gone! Shakib goes, Swann strikes in his second over! Shakib skips down the wicket and is done in by some drift and really sharp turn there. Prior makes no mistake with the stumping and the Bangladesh captain goes.

Shakib Al Hasan c †Prior b Swann 12 (28b 0x4 0x6) SR: 42.85

Not a great performance with the ball but the world's best spinner has taken the game by the scruff of the neck

Sid looks like he's been at the pies again. & obviously thinks it's only fair he shares some with the Banglas.

Him & Tiny Tim are the fattest opening seam attack in international cricket, IMHO.

Careful - I remember reading how Bres got seriously annoyed at some comments about his berth on another website.

Not exactly a glowing tribute to our FC system, are they? Suffice to say that when the umpire signals 'wide', you have to check whether he's referring to the delivery or to the bowler.

If the Bangas grew some brains, they'd be a pretty good side - guys like Tamim are obviously serious talents, they just need more support down the other end

Anyway, hope Tamim gets 201* if only so we could have a heap of Tamim vs Jack Hobbs threads etc

Mushfiq, Shakib, Mahmudullah and Naeem have been batting with a degree of maturity in the last 6 months (especially the latter two players). Today's been a bit of a slip-up but I have faith that they'll give a far better account of themselves in the next one.
