**Official** England in Bangladesh 2016

So weird when both of England's openers actually work. Feels wrong. Duckett has some great and some incredibly bad shots in this 41, interspersed with pitch wankery and a dropped catch. Most interesting opening innings for a while.

Usually when the series was already lost though.
Ehh, AFAIK that mostly happened against Australia. You beat South Africa for example, and drew with the West Indies in series. Bit different from going through 15-16 years without a win against Test-class opposition.

I mean usually I'd say something about sides starting hard chases off nicely before collapsing, but that's usually when the target is 350+. 275 quite a bit different.

At least you won some Tests against quality opposition....
This is true but the overall feeling was that the rest of the world was pulling away from us - at least the Banglas have the consolation that they are most certainly improving

The boundaries today have mostly come off these two finally middling their shots, but they've been able to rotate the strike so much because of bowlers dropping short and allowing them to play square into gaps. That didn't happen in the first innings.
