Restricted out of his league for being too good he meant.
I'd hope, being in his early 20s, that he would be restricted out of the grade I'm playing in my 40s.

I mean, let's just say if it's your career highlight, you've got issues.

Manee

Cricketer Of The Year
I have no idea what it has been lately, but balls like that last one from Johnson just didn't look 87mph. Maybe it is bowling machines giving batsmen more time but he looked like he had an age to play that.

Hussey takes one above his head - cue Victorian commentators to rave about "taking the grab".
There it is - reference to the half back flank.

As opposed to the half-cooked brains of the commentators.

James Brayshaw the smarmiest man on earth.

King Pietersen

International Captain
Think that's a "grubber", think Manee's referring to something Greg Blewett said, sounded like "that was a goober", pretty sure it was in reference to the O'Keefe dropped catch.

While you're mentioning sayings, I've heard the expression 'gruber' quite a bit from NZ and Aussie commentators, what does it mean?

Grubber - a ball that rolls on the ground mate.

Edit: what they said.

So how does that work?

Lets say myself who is now mid 30s, injured and out of shape but played a reasonable level of cricket, would I be allowed to come off the long run at a lower grade against some schoolboys? If not, why not? I couldnt think of anything less fun right now playing a level where I would have to train and give a ****.
