*Official* England in Australia (2 T20 & 7 ODIs)

Its probably nothing but coincidence as Broad plays both formats but after watching KP tower over Shazad it is noticable that the short arses (Shazad and Woakes) are playing LO stuff and the giants (Tremlett and Finn) have played Tests.

Is it variety in pace and balls, quicker in the field or not significant at all?
I think the fielding is a factor, especially with Tremlett.

What's up with Warner? Odd innings from him, very odd.
The quicks, aside from Woakes, nailed their line to him, over leg stump not letting him free his arms too much. That's where a lot of his dots came from, and they pinned him early.

Yeah that was weird. Lots of balls on his hips that he just couldn't get bat on ball too.

Looked like he got his formats wrong, that was the perfect ODI innings. Too bad he doesn't play like that in the Ryobi cup.

Happy enough that he didn't just toss it away after an over and a half though.

Reckon he's any chance of a WC spot Jack? He's not in the side for the weekend.

Average innings from Warner - that's the sort of stuff he's been producing for NSW in T20 cricket lately as well. If Australia want a player to open the batting and only strike at 100 for the first half of their innings and then try accelerate (only to get out half the time..), there are players who will do that a lot more consistently and effectively than David Warner. Imagine if he'd played that innings on T20I debut instead of the one he actually did play - he might not have played again and the perceptions of him would be completely different.

I'm not a big fan of Marsh but how he didn't make this team boggles the mind a bit. And no, Taylor and Nicholas, Warner should not be anywhere near the frame for the World Cup.

Nah, no chance IMO. Hasn't done enough in that form of the game, still. Think that Marsh would be ahead of him as an opener, and I don't think that he'll be going to the subcontinent.
