*Official* England in Australia (2 T20 & 7 ODIs)

Finally Clarke FFS, so frustrating watching him prod around when he can easily bat like this. All it needed was a little more intent. White's form is a bit of a worry now. Smith is surely the world's most ugliest batsman (i mean his technique of course ). Dussey did not need to play those slogs when we needed run a ball, almost lost us the match.

Good effort to chase down that score. Trott surprisingly played a fast paced innings, but I still have doubts of him in the ODI side, especially for the WC. BTW has he even lost form playing for England yet?

It was always going to be tough to defend even 333 on a totally flat wicket with such an inexperienced attack.

Didn't Pat Rafter used to model those undies as well?

Benchy getting warmed up to do a kermit with these pics one feels

Anyway that was good watching most of it. Thought Clarke should have gotten back for that second but you really can't begrudge him praise for his innings. No matter what has come before that was a brilliant knock. Well played. Liked watching Callum too, and he was somewhat unlucky to get out the way he did. Reckon he would have made a big one. Hopefully he gets a ticket to India.

Especially given we've never done it before.

White's a real worry now, agreed. Seems to have forgotten how to build an innings.

"We're winning, first and foremost, and it's nice to be contributing with the bat," says a smiling Michael Clarke. "We had to take a few risks, I punted a bit on sending Mitch up the order and he played really well. He strikes the ball as clean as anyone.
When it's going your way...

Yes, thought Finn bowled really well, that extra bit of bounce that he gets worked well for him and showed good variation, didn't know he had it him in.

Finn was great. Easily the best bowler of the match. He made it close, really.

Yep, and all of them injured.

Also, Bresnan and Tremlett are injured.
That is obviously a problem, but tonight exposed the folly of running with a five man attack for you guys with Collingwood as fifth bowler. Just don't see Pietersen and Trott being up to filling a full ten overs between them if a bowler goes down like tonight. Collingwood much better as a part timer for you guys I reckon.

I'm kind of assuming Swann will come into this team for Collingwood, and Yardy will bat at seven. It's probably not ideal but since we don't have a great all-rounder it's probably the way we'll have to go.

If we can get at least one of Bresnan and Broad fit to bat eight, with Swann at nine too there's some scoring ability down the order.

The telly was on mute at the pub, how was the crowd's reaction when Clarke came out?
Cheered.

Apparently the boo's from the last game were actually because his entrance co-incided with a security guard confiscating a beach ball. Not sure how much of that is true, but that's what a couple of the commentators were saying tonight.

Reckon I've heard it a bit at all the grounds. Got booed in the Sydney Test.

As impressive as today's win was, I hope some harsh realities aren't just ignored and swept under the carpet. First thing first, this is the 4th time England have batted first in this series and their much maligned batting line-up still has managed to score 290 plus on three out of four ocassions, now that's obviously points at the fact that the bowling has been nothing short of woeful at times and likes of Lee, Dougeh, Hastings and Johnson need to do some work before the worldcup.

Batting is starting to look good but still form of Haddin and White remain a concern, Haddin just keeps batting like a maverick whereas White is struggling to get his big shots away though it doesn't seem like he is too far from regaining his best form.

Also despite all my criticism of Clarke, I was hugely impressed with his innings and the way he carried himself out there, he played with freedom backed his natural ability and that's how most Australian fans would like to see him bat. Also liked the way he took on Strauss and Anderson, he has often backed down whenever the opposition has had a go at him but tonight he was hugely impressive with everything he did.

Great to have Ferg back in the side, exactly the kind of player we need to come in for the middle overs if punter isn't around.

Top knock from Clarke and hopefully he said "Take that *****!" to Anderson after the 6. That little bit of emotion turned into a key over in the match. Under fire from all sources Pup seems to find his best form.

Any word on Smith's injury yet..?Hauritz, Doherty and O'Keffe are already down with injuries and a serious injury to Smith could leave us pretty light on spin options.
