I'd go Dougey over Johnson every time in ODIs if Dougey is fit, particularly with Hauritz and Lee quite capable of batting 8 and 9.
He looks appreciably quicker in your clip and bowling a fuller length too, which makes me wonder why he didn't bowl further up in the PM's game. Getting some fair swing there as well, which we saw precious little of in Canberra. What do we think? Does Copeland look like he is bowling any faster here than in the PM match:

Can see him bowling at 0:08, 0:38, 2:01 and 2:17 (the delivery to Manou here is a peach!).
Yeah, as I said earlier in the thread, he has problems controlling the white ball. He tries to slow himself down to bowl more accurately which doesn't really work - he doesn't complete his action and he still sprays it around at a very hittable pace. His record in one day cricket speaks for itself, really; it'd be very harsh to judge his Test prospects based on how he looked in one day cricket but I fear the selectors will do exactly that.He looks appreciably quicker in your clip and bowling a fuller length too, which makes me wonder why he didn't bowl further up in the PM's game. Was pretty disappointed in my first look at the lad, I have to say. Was barely medium-fast pace, little movement through the air or off the seam and looked to be falling away if his delivery stride too, so not using his full height.
Outside of CW, Pattinson certainly has more wraps on him than Copeland. Copeland came into the NSW team with virtually no pedigree other than consistently good numbers in grade cricket and he's continued on his merry way in Shield cricket. CW members have rightly noticed his excellent performances and put his name forward, but Pattinson's one of the 'chosen ones' by Cricket Australia - he had big wraps on him before he was even spotted in state cricket. He certainly has more of the attributes of a typical Australian quick than Copeland and he's probably higher up the Test pecking order despite having no real right to be. I like the look of Pattinson quite a bit myself, too - more than the other two chosen ones (Hazelwood and Starc) even despite the fact that the latter two are from my state but I rate Copeland a bit higher at this stage (even if I rate Pattinson the better long-term prospect). If one was unaware of their respective careers one would assume that Pattinson was the one with the wraps on him.
10000% agree. Johnson can sit out all odi's IMO, and tests! Actually maybe he'd do better in odi's than tests if he gave tests up, or was forced too.I'd go Dougey over Johnson every time in ODIs if Dougey is fit, particularly with Hauritz and Lee quite capable of batting 8 and 9.
He did pitch it up looking for the swing but as is the case, if it isn't swinging then it becomes a half volley. That 2nd over where he got smashed, a couple of balls were pitched up and got dispatched. He looks appreciably quicker in your clip and bowling a fuller length too, which makes me wonder why he didn't bowl further up in the PM's game. Isn't it about time we stopped considering "county" an inferior term to "state"?Copelands stats look good, his bowling doesnt though. Seeing the crappy standard - apparently - of Shield batsmen then its no surprise he's getting wickets. Looks no more than a county trundler.
I know he's from Coventry and he still runs security for some bars around there, so I doubt he trains at the Wolf's Lair because that's in Widnes. Yes, Wolf's Lair is one of the 2, best gyms in the UK along with Team Rough House from Nottingham, where Dan Hardy, Paul Daley and a few other UFC fighters train.Does he train at Wolf's Lair? I've heard it's the ducks nuts as regards MMA gyms in England.

Haha, no robelinda! Have you read any of the posts comparing Copeland's FC to OD bowling, or watched the video above? You're normally quite intelligent and reserved.Copelands stats look good, his bowling doesnt though. ????? Ok. I'm obviously not allowed to have an opinion of my own. What on earth is your problem?Haha, what the hell robelinda?! Have you read any of the posts comparing Copeland's FC to OD bowling, or watched the video above? You're normally quite intelligent and reserved.
Yeah all bowlers that have fast deliveries are da goodzYeah it looks mostly off the seam as well. Looks a very exciting bowler, but unless he can work out a way to get an effort ball up to 140k I can't see him ever being selected.
Zaheer and Anderson can move it both ways, in the air and off the deck. Copeland doesn't have those tools as of yet.Anderson and Zaheer are both mid-130 bowlers though. ATM we need control and movement more than anything else, if Copeland has those then I'm willing to give him a crack - in Tests, obviously.
