Daresay had a proper batsman been there I reckon England could well have given us a real scare. As it is they're probably just scoring runs to get England some creditability but still is hard to get the win.
Daresay if a proper batsman was there we wouldn't have bowled four bouncers per over in an attempt to hit Anderson in his concave sternum.

Around 2008, when England were struggling, KP invariably used to be the one to bail them out. Nowadays, he makes the sporadic big scores, but rarely does anything when the team is in strife.

Yeah that's a fair point. It's pretty obvious when we've got 10/11 at the crease with plenty to get then we just switch off mentally.

That still doesn't explain anything....there's no conceivable reason why he would ask the umpire to go upstairs if he knew he hadn't caught it
Well, that's not true. There's obviously one conceivable reason. Not suggesting Smith was guilty of it, but he wouldn't be the first sportsman to try it on if he were.

Anyway, what a bag of jizz. It doesn't seem to matter which bowlers we put out, first game aside we've generally done pretty well in containing Oz, but our batting is shocking. I'm not particularly suprprised but the sheer rank inadequacy of both our plan and execution is enervating.

The jolly last wicket slogging showed there were no demons in the pitch. Gah. Hideous.

Just to note, I don't think I've ever seen a bigger reception for a 50 from a top order bat than Clarke got than when he got out. Sums it up, really.

Really dont get Prior's batting "plan" of just basically leaving his brain in the shed

The guy is obviously a good player and could score somewhat quickly by simply playing "normal" cricket shots
