Brilliant game. Excellent and much-needed win. Hope this gives them self belief for the rest of the tournament.

Excellent to see Aizaz, Ehsan, Scotty, Nizakat, Waqas and Christie all deliver. The seniors stood up. Brilliant.

Oh and Kinchit too obv. Real team effort.

Scotty absolutely deserved that MOTM award. Great energy, great work ethic, very intelligent and polite. It's a shame he isn't working in HK anymore. Big loss to the community. But great that he's still in the national team.

I think both teams almost gave into the pressure at different points, but Hong Kong recovered better in the end. The seniors stepped up and saved the game each time we fell behind:

Nizakat giving us the fast start in the powerplay and taking the key catch
Aizaz didn't deliver with the bat, but delivered in the field and with the ball
Kinchit was okay with the bat, bit chaotic, and was superb with the ball and in the field
Scotty with his cameo, keeping, and general energy in the field
Waqas good performances with both bat and ball, and fielded well too. Very good overall.
Chrstie delivering with the ball, bowled better than his figures suggest, and his 19th over was fantastic
And Ehsan Khan for that clutch final over, taking 2 big wickets in consecutive balls.

These 7 + Haroon Arshad at the only ones who were part of the HK squad in the Asia Cup last year, and only these 7 +Shahid Wasif and Ahsan Abbasi were at the 2019 World Cricket League 2, where we lost our shot at reclaiming ODI status. Simandeep Singh had a stint with the men's side at some point, and the remaining 4 players in the squad are brand new. We're missing Waqas Khan too. I think he got injured. Looked in great touch in our Premier League T20.

So yea - a win like this is fantastic for this team's self belief and motivation.

Just looked at Canada's bowling in the match scorecard...and saw Delon Heyliger. Another Guyanese...He's from the Cinderella county of Essequibo...while Jeremy Gordon is from my county, Berbice, the ancient county.

Recovered a bit but need something special. IDK if 120 will cut it. Will need Ehsan, Kinchit, Christie and Aizaz to be absolutely 100% on the money if we're going to try to defend 120.

Awesome recovery. Kinchit with another 50, WAFG. Scotty with another clutch knock.

And what a start - Nusrullah and Haroon with early wickets. Get in boys.

This is excellent stuff. 2 overs from Haroon for just 4 runs and a wicket. Played a good innings as well. Excellent. And Nasrullah comes back in the side and takes an early wicket too.

Future of HK cricket is in good hands tbh.

10 RPO to win in the back 11 overs. HK still have 8 overs left in Aizaz, Ehsan and Christie. And Kinchit hasn't even bowled yet.

Haroon, Nusrullah and Waqas have been excellent so far. 5 overs between them for 2/18.

**** yea Rana, get in.

Cheema and Nitish Kumar. Dangerous combo. But we still have overs in hand from the senior pros. I think we're in a great position to win this.

Absolutely fantastic performance. Immense. Backs to the wall stuff.

I hope we close this out comprehensively and then smash Nigeria too. Still need some other results to go our way, but feeling good about a Top 4 finish here.

Big win. Fantastic stuff. They're such a good team when everything clicks. Had 2 must-win games in consecutive days and won them both. With a squad this young and inexperienced, it's a fabulous result.

Damn! Just yesterday I was thinking of that one handed grab by Bravo in Australia so many years ago...
Now Safiyan Sharif takes an identical one. Impressive reflexes.
