Cricketer Of The Year
In other news Hami looks to have assumed to ODI captaincy for Zim. Best of luck to him, his seniority in this squad will be invaluable.

Glad to see Taylor & Williams back in Zim colours too. Let's hope things can start clicking again for the boys in red.

Japan has serious potential as a cricketing country. They apparently have 6 grounds now, fully dedicated to cricket, and around 30 teams in their T20 League and 20-odd in their 40 overs league. They've got some proper cricketers in the team they've sent out here, and it's not just expats either. Plus TV Tokyo have come out to cover their team's performance here (mainly because of Shogo Kimura, who wasn't even in the XI today, lol). A lot of their players have softball/baseball in their background as kids, so they're a proper good fielding unit.

A team to watch over the next few years IMO.

Final day of the East Asia cup - Japan on the verge of victory over China here, while the Dragons need a big win over Korea to qualify for the finals. Exciting stuff

First Class Debutant
Not sure if it's already been brought up but looks like the ICC are rethinking ODI status.

I wonder what the difference is financially for the Associates. Wasn't there an England v Afghanistan match in the UAE a few years back downgraded because of cost?

Played against James Cameron-Dow who I see is now in the Ireland A squad. Always find out little bits and bobs.

The Dubai T20x tournament excites me - a ton of good Associate cricketers are taking place in that.

I'm all for a booming T20 industry if it means more sustainable careers for cricketers from the non-Test playing nations.
