The lengthy, and maybe a bit optimistic interview with Cricket Kenya's new honchos starts at around the 2:30 mark

sounds promising and with some good people in charge - Otieno, Odoyo, Tikolo, etc. Hope it works out!

Like the idea of an Elite league as well.

Huge result for PNG yesterday, beating UAE for their first WCL points!

Alei Nao the star for them with 4/28 in 10 overs. Good to see a new-ish face make an impact. The PNG fans on Facebook are a vocal bunch, this win should appease them a bit!

More good new for PNG, as they have just beat Nepal 2-0 in a pair of ODIs played in Nepal! Big wins for them, not so good for Nepal...

A T20I series now underway between PNG, Nepal and Malaysia. No stream on ICC.tv, but might be something on FanCode, or floating around on YouTube/Facebook. Nepal 117/4 batting first vs PNG in 13.4 overs.

Must say it sucks seeing so much associate cricket being played but with the Hong Kong team grounded due to our government's insane COVID laws :( We're missing out on a lot of game time and experience that comes with it. Going to be a rough summer when our team finally does get to tour, given basically every other nation's team will be going into the tournament with a decent amount of cricket in 2022.

some depressing news out of Malaysia:

Meanwhile after beating Nepal 2-0 in the ODIs, PNG now face off against them in the final of a T20I tri series that also featured Malaysia. Malaysia actually beat PNG in their first game, but lost the rematch. Both teams lost their games to Nepal, who finished unbeaten, and so PNG make the final due to NRR. Some high scoring games. Nepal crossed 200 twice, with 110* from Dipendra Singh Airee getting them to 223 in their final group stage game, while Tony Ura belted 86* off just 34 balls to help PNG chase down 199 vs Malaysia in just 17.5 overs! Karan KC enjoying a productive return to the side, is currently the leading wicket-taker with 9 wickets.

Nepal vs Zim A live on YouTube atm, Crictracker really cornering the niche international associate cricket broadcasting market segment

Really digging the Zimbabwe A kit. Good score by Nepal batting first, but the grounds up there are pretty small and pitches notoriously good to bat on.

so england have yanked a kiwi expat to captain them

it's great to see a bloke who couldn't get a go in a bigger nation find some success in the lower tiers, and imagine the whimsy if he gets to captain his england at his home ground one day!
