Good spot. I must have abbreviations on the mind. :PMr. Ponting said:Don't you mean its an uphill battle for the WI to prevent a CW v England final?
I mistakenly overlooked the fact the the West Indies have played 4 games. Therefore the scenario is different in that an England win will knock West Indies out of the picture. If England lose all their remaining matches convincingly and West Indies win their games convincingly, it may still be a CW XI v WI final.Mr Mxyzptlk said:Here's how it breaks down...
* If WI lose any of their 3 remaining games they are out. They must convincingly win all 3 games and have England lose every game played against the CW XI to remain in contention.
* The CW XI need one win to qualify for the final. We would have to get whipped beyond belief in our remaining 3 games to be knocked out.
* An England win and a West Indies loss qualifies England for the final.
Basically it's an uphill battle for the West Indies to prevent a CW XI v England final. As such both the CW XI and England teams can afford to tamper with their XI's a bit.

The bowling was disappointing on a whole.
