Sad to see you go mate, but you did have a great career and did a great job as captain, it has been great working with you in my short time as national coach. I presume considering the less responsibilities on CricketWeb, we might not be seeing you as often, which is disappointing as were also a great posters. Best of luck in the future with your your family mate.

It's been an honour to play as your number two for the last few seasons.

Best of luck with the little ones.

CW international star Ian Markus calls it quits.
By Gringo El Spatcho

Ian Markus, CW Black and CWXI opening batsman has decided to call curtains on his impressive career. The batsman confirmed rumours that last season was his last in an interview today:

Ian Markus said:
"Might head on out to the pastures methinks, it's the right time to retire.
No announcement has been made by the CWBCC about possible replacements for Ian in the CWXI ODI squad for the ODI's vs England.

CW Black captain Dan Smith made this comment to the media today.

Daniel Smith said:
"He's been a superstar for years, not just in a Black jumper. I'm sure the whole of CWLand will miss him greatly. He'll be hard to replace for both us and the CWXI."

Was always on the cards, but its sad that it has been confirmed. One of the great players for CW Red and the CWXI. Lucky we picked an extra player in the ODI squad.

Was a pleasure to play with Fatty Markus back in CW Red's for such a long time - he was a top batsman and also made captaining the Reds side alot easier with his handy twirlers often breaking partnerships.

Congratulations on a great career. If there is any positives, it is that one day batting is one of the strengths of the nation. It still says a lot then how much he will be missed.
