*Official* Cricket Web XI in Pakistan

Another good fighting victory... Good to see the bowlers stepping up to the plate..

The batting has been hard work on some very ordinary pitches.. Really International cricket deserves better then these minefields that are being served up...

Good tough, hardnosed cricket being played here and we are showing we are as tough as the hardest.

Excellent win and Halsey doing the business.

Nice pair of wins there guys. Good to be in some form myself to keep Chaulk at bay, and fair play to Pickup, Halsey and Kev for their bowling so far.

Watt and Halsey shine brightest at Lahore
Cricket Web XI vs Pakistan - 3rd ODI

Scorecard
Ball by Ball

A long and frustrating period for Dave Watt came to an end, when he returned to form in stunning fashion, as he shared 9 wickets with Tom Halsey in a comfortable win over Pakistan at Lahore. Watt took his career-best figures of 5-33, having previously taken no more than 3 wickets in a one-day international innings. The win ensured an unbeatable 3-0 series lead for the CW XI.

It was a superb spell of bowling from the start. Watt removed Imran Farhat with a second ball outswinger, then pegged Yasir Hameed with a sharp inswinger. He then returned late in the innings to wrap up the tail. Perhaps slightly more impressive was the bowling of Halsey, however. He was the man who accounted for the most potent of Pakistani batting threats. Shahid Afridi (41) and Mohammad Yousuf (45) prospered more than any of the other batsmen, but both perished to the legspin of Halsey. The latter was part of a 3-wicket over, which also saw the demise of Inzamam-ul-Haq and Shoaib Malik.

The display was stunning, especially in the context of the pitch, which did not support the spinners as keenly as expected. Senior wrist-spinner Neil Pickup was thusly belted for 36 runs from a fruitless 5 overs. It was no matter though, as Pakistan crumbled for 165 in chasing.

The Cricket Web XI earlier set a target of 246, despite another middle order slide. Ian Markus and Andrew Cloete got the tourists off to an ideal start and added a positive 113 for the first wicket. Brendon Goff entered and maintained the positive batting, but the likes of Butler, Dauth and Camps could not sustain the intensity. Mohammad Asif dealt for Alex Crampton due a top-edged pull shot, then Halsey continued in good form and was scored an unbeaten 19 to ensure a good total of 245-7.

It was he who got the Man of the Match award too, with another stellar combination of batting and bowling, stating ever more clearly the depth of the Cricket Web XI.

Cricket Web XI 245-7 (50 overs)
AP Cloete 68; I Markus 58; BJ Goff 35
Mohammad Asif 2-49; Imran Farhat 1-24

Pakistan 165 ao (38.4 overs)
Mohammad Yousuf 45; Shahid Afridi 41
DJ Watt 5-33; TC Halsey 4-27

Cricket Web XI won by 80 runs.
