Time to bring Bond back for 2-3 overs now to break this partnership.Strauss brings up his 50,decent innings but was absolutely plumb early on.

Nice 50 from Strauss and I'm off. Hoping to get back with England on 270+ and with a really exciting match on our hands tonight. Don't care who wins tbh, as long as it's close.

With the old "double it at 30 overs" rule I'm a bit concerned now, certainly not as confident as I was an hour ago.

This is worrying; the English may get away from us from here. I certainly still think we can win though; in our last 3 games, our scores have been 290, 318 and 340 odd IIRC.

Bond's still got 5 overs left as well.

Bond having 5 up his sleeve is the key. I'd bowl him a couple now. England may either lose a wicket, or try and see him off which will slow the rate.

Yeah defienetly bring him back now in place of Styris. The game seems to be drifting for NZ and if Bond can break this partnership it could be the difference between England getting 275 or between 220-250.

Look, agreed that watson is not in the same class as a kallis or a flintoff, but in the current aussie set-up they need a man who could do a decent job with both bat and ball and watson's recent performances have been really good with both bat and ball. He gives the team tremendous flexibility which is again really important to get the balance of the side right. Though dropping tait is a poor decision IMO.

Finally things going right for straussy, he has been really unlucky on this tour good to see him getting some runs hope he turns this 50 into a century.

Styris IMO is quite an under rated bowler as he bowls wicket to wicket and mixes his pace up well.Really surprised Jeetan Patel didn't play instead of Gillespie as we all know England don't play slow bowling well and they find it hard to get away.

Styris is bowling well. I would leave him on until he gets hit. He can make up either Oram's, Franklin's or even Vetorri's 10.

Bond has struggled coming back for his second spell.

Hey guys is this true that pietersen is planning to comeback into the english squad if they reach the finals. Straussy gone really poor shot selection, should have tried to be there till the end.
