Nice watching Ponting play his trademark pull again. :)

Bit of a road this deck. Reckon it'll flatten out as the match goes on aswell, so Australia really need a big score. Like 320ish IMO. Never know what the Indian batting will do though I guess. 150 might be enough...

50 for Hayden. Awesome. (Y)

They need to score 400 to be safe on this pitch tbh.

I wonder whether Healy would be talking about Dhoni's gloves if had not taken that catch of Gilchrist.
Anyhow what Healy's talking about.. is that right ?
" Dhnoi's gloves webbing being illegal.. reckons its too big". I assume he knows what he's talking about seeing as he was once a wicket-keeper.

Healy continues his dreadful and biased commentary. I am not sure which cricket manual he is referring to...

I personally don't think India have the depth in batting to chase a 300+ score, even on this flat deck.

Not yet with this team. Obviously its possible with Sachin, Yuvraj and Dhoni... and if Sehwag clicks. But things will have to go right.

Australia should get 320+ from here, and win the game.

I really wish we rested Sachin and/or Ishant for this game. I'm scared of Ishant being overworked, and the SL game is a must-win so they'll need them both there.

Hasn't been a boundary for ten overs. Ponting needs to start going aerial against the spinners please.

Stupid play from Ponting. Couldn't care whether you make 99 or 100. Really worried that this period might cost Australia the game. Slow balls on leg should be going to the fine-leg fence, not patted to mid-on for a single.

EDIT: Thank you Symonds. More of that please. There is nothing in this pitch.

Ponting playing for his ton (fair enough), but this is doing India some good.
Not fair enough IMO.

99 off 102 balls is better then 100 off 110.

I really, really hate how in ODI Cricket batsmen play for there 100, it really grinds my gears.

Don't hate it in Test Cricket as much, but still if you're 90 odd chances are you've played quite well so continue it!

Meh, until you're in that position (and out of form) it's hard to criticise IMO. This ton will mean a lot to Ponting I imagine. More than his ones earlier this summer vs. NZ.

Plus Symonds is on the other end so he can afford to do this.

Ponting's on 99 and on strike now.

Good ton from Ponting. He'll be relieved.

Chill Winston. You're cruising, India won't chase this down unfortunately.

India have to have a real good think about Sreesanth in the ODI game. He's far too inconsistent.

I've been in that position before, but playing for Australia at the SCG against India is slightly a larger scale then playing for Townview at Kalkadoon Oval against Barbarians.

:) Well done PUNTER and SYMONDS!

Yuck!

I'm sorry but I just don't find that six attractive. I'm not a technique nazi or anything, but i just don't see how that batting from Symonds is good to watch.

India aren't going to get near this. Ah well at least I can watch our U-19's put a beatdown on the English lads :)

Why has Raina (on as a sub) gone from a nice thin and athletic fielder to a chubby Craig McMillan look-a-like?

I hope he's improved his batting as everyone has said, because he used to easily be our best fielder.
