Having heard the Chairman speak on the Cricket Show last week, the new panel's philosophy is quite clear and is reflected in this squad, namely to pick the best players available regardless of age. Now, we can certainly quibble as to whether guys like Dussey are among the best players, but their philosophy was laid bare last week - and I think we need to take account of that when commenting on the panel's work.

YES

I mean, SL and India may suck balls in test cricket but you know they are sorta decent in OD cricket. Picking a guy who barely deserves a place in the QLD LO side to see how he goes is just frankly absurd. It's encouraging to see they rate him (BUT THEN WHY NOT PICK HIM IN THE AUS A GAME OH MY GOD) but he's on a ticket to hell here. He either doesn't play at all, taking him away from the shield*, or he does play, likely goes terribly because as above he barely deserves a game for QLD, and has his papers stamped.
