Root has been below par. Odd that he's not played at 3 though. Ideal position for him.

Shades of waiting for Sangakkara to finally do something for the Hurricanes.

Maybe the scripts this year don't include a Joe Root power arc.

Loving seeing Root fail to deliver in Australia yet again. Goes all the way back to when he was a young kid playing a season for Prospect. Walked around like he owned the place yet couldn't even average 30 in Adelaide first grade. Spoken to blokes who played with/against him there, and he was an arrogant little **** even back then

I'm sure joe will get over a few low scores in the big bash when he looks at how much the Australians are putting in his bank account.

In all seriousness, if he doesn't make a significant contribution in his last few games, it'll definitely be an influence on his selection come the T20I WC next year in AUS. He won't get much more chances beforehand.

He should have always been at 3, but Ferguson (who isn't even a good T20 player) has been out performing him pretty comfortably so hard to really back that change now

He can't open because Buttler & Watson are clearly better, but it's not like they're going to drop him because he's a fine player and they have **** all other batsmen in the squad anyway.

Awkward situation, if it were me I'd just put Root at 3 and move Ferguson down. I mean there's no guarantee that he'll be any better at 3 than he was at 4 but at least it gives a classy player more time to bat (Ferguson doesn't qualify as "classy" player in T20)

Sams was excellent. Looking forward to seeing him in internationals soon.

Perfect platform for Maxwell to guide his team home. Can do it with ones and twos if he's smart.

****, I was watching two games at once (one on a monitor and one in my tablet) and when the first BBL game finished I closed all my apps, turned off my tablet and put it on charge in my drawer, not realising there was another game tonight. Now I have to get it out and turn it on all over again.

A very first world problem I know, but I always find problems of my own doing particularly annoying. Myself, WAC.
