So a Premier All Stars side was picked in Melbourne, and the Melbourne Stars rolled out their full team against them on Sunday and only just beat them.

Then on Tuesday, they were due to play against the Renegades, who played against the Darren Lehmann Academy in the morning beforehand. Having lost to the DLA twice on the Sunday (mainly due to contributions from Renegades players) they put out a full strength team against them, and then played the left overs against the Premier team, who had all taken the day off work to play this match, and after getting them in all sorts of trouble the Renegades then sent out Mire to bat a second time. Then in the field, the Premier players had to sub-field for Renegades players who couldn't be arsed fielding.

For a team that built themselves last year around being blue collar, not a good sign heading into the series, and lost a lot of goodwill in Premier Cricket circles.

Imagine if Arun Finch bowls the first ball of the tournament.

Not certain Nnanden, but I believe McDonald is still injured, while Wright is in the country and will play tonight.

I've also just read that Spikey's boi Luke Doran is out injured and been replaced by ACT spinner Blake Dean. Tye out injured too with Italian Carl Sandri in for him.
