The fact that abbott wasn't picked for the syndey test still confuses me tbh. He's averaging 50+ with the bat across his past few shield seasons batting 6/7 for NSW (only 1 hundred tbf). Would have been a far better fill in then renshaw.

Averaging 38.36 with the ball this Shield season doesn't exactly help his case. Abbott himself said words to that effect after one of the BBL games, hadn't quite had the season he would have liked

Not sure he was ever more than a very remote chance tbh

Is Sams the BBL's ultimate rocks or diamonds player? Any other contenders? Maybe Maddinson?

Sams seems to either get like 40 (15) and a 3-for or single digits and travels with the ball. Amazing how he never seems to produce or show any sort of consistency

Don't know what to think about this stars vs hurricanes game. Hurricanes have fielded the worst attack i've seen this BBL, and last time this happend maxwell made 150, but maxwell is out for the season and stoinis has got a niggle.

For some reason this match up excites me less than any game to date this season. Nice NZ/Pakistan kicks off in half an hour.

Hurricanes have been hopeless this season,usually only watch their matches, not even bothering tonight, just checking the scores every 10 minutes or so.
