I reckon the heat should open with Pierson, drop brown and bat Bryant at 6. Bryant did well in the middle order when given a chance there, and Pierson is I think the best batsmen in the power surge this season. Reckon hede be able to go out there and slap it around to give the heat those brown esque starts more often.

I know hitting your Yorkers is hard but FFS surely you have to hit 1-2 out of 6 if your gonna try and bowl them? Dreadful ****up from neser.

Whoever in Strikers list management who didn't offer Johnson another contract before this season should find themselves at Centrelink first thing tomorrow morning

**** Johnson is clutch. His stats for the season won't show it, but clutching back to back games in the final over against two of the three best middle order bats in the country is incredible.

Really hope CA get him amongst the international squad/A-team. He's on the older side, but a left armers who bowls 140+ consistently and can clutch the death overs is a superb skillset to build off.

Actually **** it can we just send Spencer Johnson to the WA coaching staff? Give him 12 months with the guy Lance Morris did his off season stuff with and he'll be bowling like peak Mitch Johnson in no time.

He's done well but early days. He's new to the bbl and most guys aren't used to his game. You'd have him bowl last over because batsman aren't seeing his delivery sliding across and going wide. Atm that's good for 2 deliveries out of the six. His yorker is landing as well and that leaves little for the batsman to score off from the final over.

More likely Tim Nielsen making the calls in terms of list management, but fair point
I keep forgetting Nielsen's working for SA. Wasn't his time as Aus coach around 2010 wonderful lol?

I've seen quite a few people elsewhere blaming Gillespie afor various issues around SA, but I'm not in enough on the situation to make a call one way or another.

While there are some things Gillespie probably could do better, I think a large proportion of the problems are much deeper rooted structural issues that have been around for so long that it was always somewhat naive to expect any one individual to turn it around themselves. Right from the top down SACA has always been somewhat of a stale, bureaucratic organisation, performance all too often takes a back seat to patronage. A bloated grade system (everyone agrees 13 teams is too many for the talent pool here, but any solution goes nowhere as self interest always wins), questionable list management and selection policies, and a general lack of communication beween all the relevant parties involved have been depressingly constant features of South Australian cricket

Honestly, Top_Cat was saying pretty much the same sort of things here 10-15 years ago. A lot of the individual names may have changed, but the general situation really hasn't

The Renegades made the correct decision to bowl but can't help doing what they do best - catastrophic disintegration.
