Tanveer being crocked the whole season so far is without a doubt a fair reason not to pick him

I love Dooley tbh, him against noted Perth accountant Nick Hobson is exactly the battle the BBL needs

neither of them a good enough second spinner to really give india any trouble tbh, would much rather they bring tanveer sangha who might actually do, well, something. they won't though
He's injured anyway so won't have had much cricket. Don't much rate the chances of a wrist spinner over there. I'm not a huge fan of Agar as a test bowler generally, but if there's decent turn he might offer something more than Swepson as he bowls quite flat. Agree though that neither option is particularly great.

Will this be the annual Ashton Turner innings which makes you wonder why he isn't an international regular before he goes back to being cod ordinary even by BBL standards for the rest of the tourney?

Why on earth are the scorchers playing hobson? There only playing 2 overseas this game and have eskinazi in reserve, would be a massive improvement over hobson.

Todd Murphy would be the bold pick but modern logic would dictate you're better off having 2 different style spinners

Personally I think this trend is over-indulged and if your 2 best spinners are the same type it doesn't matter, they're still you're 2 best.

All that said I would go with Agar, or Kuhnemann if he isn't chucking it. Swepson shouldn't be in the picture for India

Why have people turned on swepson so much recently? Would have won us the 2nd test vs pak with some umpiring luck/decent fielding and bowled well in SL.

I haven't turned on him so much as I'm not sold on his MO for Indian conditions.

I don't think he was ever rated that highly by most people tbh. He bowls way too many bad balls and would get destroyed in India. He's a less crazy choice for Tests in Aus.

the problem is too it feels like the bad ones don't come due to a lack of consistency or something that can be trained out, his style is to bowl really flat which isn't good at this level especially away to india tbh

You can almost guarantee that you're going to get a couple of half-trackers early in his spell and pencil yourself in for 8 to 12 free runs

I see Dooley played for Penang does anyone know if he’s part Malaysian or if he was there as an overseas pro?
