Heat should drop Simmons and look to next season since McCullum will come in.

I would try the Heazlett - Jimmy P opening combo and give Doolan some gametime despite having a mediocre t20 record.

1 Heazlett
2 Peirson
3 Lynn
4 Doolan
5 Reardon
6 Cutting
7 Buchanan
8 Floros
9 Wildermuth
10 Badree
11 Steketee

Would honestly go with Feldman over Steketee for the rest of the season, the latter just bowls such a light, floaty ball and just doesn't threaten in this format.

BARNES OUT
I was there the match that Lee hit it over the stand

All other strikes are irrelevant
Yeah I'll never forget watching that, the look on Darren Powell's face is etched into memory. Every time I see somebody say that such-and-such hit the biggest six ever I just show them that vid.

Heat can't persist with Peirson & Simmons as openers. The rot sets in at the top too easily. If you look back to the season the Heat won it they had Pomersbach opening the batting contributing quick starts and big scores.

Reardon's innings was probably the worst of the lot tonight.

Brisbane essentially comprises of Lynn, a couple of washed up ex-Windies and a plethora of first graders.

Hard to see where their $1.5million salary cap is being spent.
I think the "Thunder curse" is overplayed, it's actually the Floros curse.

Dropping Simmons is silly, particularly since I doubt you'll be bringing back Doolan either. The batting doesn't look too bad. I'd keep Simmons, move Peirson down to 4-ish (I don't wanna want to move hide him at 6-7, but that could happen) and maybe move Cutting to 5 to see what happens. At the end of the day though, the bowling is hot rubbish
