I just read a intresting preview to the Aus vs Ban on Cricinfo, in it they state

The match is just reward for the long-serving administrators of the Northern Territory, who would never have dreamed that they would be hosting a Test match, let alone the agreed four in the next five years.
Now this must mean Australia are serious about making this a more regular Test venue. Ok your probley thinking yeah and your point is what... Well if you go and look at the Home series for Australia in the next five years there isn't a weak Test side there.

So Darwin will be getting to host Tests from the following countires SA, Pak, Eng, WI, NZ, SL and India again - Not to bad for a ground that is only getting it's First Class status due to this Test match!

Australia have won the toss and chosen to send Bangladesh in

After 4 overs it's 4/0 and Cricinfo made this statment - "the pitch has been flown up from melbourne and seems even slower than your traditional melbourne wicket"

Opps

Oh dear!

4.3 McGrath to Hannan Sarkar, OUT: again leaves the ball this one not bouncing as high and cuts back onto the pads in front of the stumps

Bangladesh - 4/1 (4.3 Overs) - Javed Omar 2*

Do any of you Aussies know whether any internet radio stations are doing ball-by-ball on the game?

not a clue, i imagine its on 702 AM in autralia, 6/63 at lunch, Lee and Mcgrath bowling Awsome, Australia should be batting long before tea

Bang all out for 97 in 42 overs.
McGrath and Lee 3 wickets each.
MacGill and Dizzy 2 each

In m6y opinion here, Bangladesh have far from disgraced themselves. They showed courage with the bat and are having a shot with the ball.

Sure, they are not really up to it, but you can't fail them on guts. They will come good eventually.

Watch for an even bigger improvement next test.

they have far from discraced trhemselves but they havn't done anything special.

Lee looked dangerous every ball and none of the bangladeshi's really had much idea at all. neither did they have much idea with Macgill or McGrath. Gillespie was a little off today but started to come good after a while.

witrh the ball they have bowled incredably negativley, i think trying to bore the Aussie Batsmen out, Ponting and Hayden were both a little impatient on a slowish pitch and got out from mi****s.

Langer and Lehmann both batted patiently and dont look like they will ever get out, Gilchrist should dominate them with his power square of the wicket, hopefully tomorrow the Bangladeshi bowling wont be as negative as today, its not very often i get bored watching cricket...

I ain't sure of the conditions or the plan, but 121 in 45 overs seems a little slow for the Aussies :wow:

Slow, but the Aussies have 4 days to play, 8 wickets in hand, and a lead of 24 after bowling bangladesh out for 97. I don't think this is a big issue. Do you?

makes it a hell of alot more interesting to watch, i think they are trying to play for a draw, but thast not gonna happen either... i mean Australia will probably still win by an innings inside 3 days even at this slow rate of scoring - nota also the pitch is slow, its not all the bangladeshi's tactics, their tactics just exadurate it

Haha so we now hear comments that it's not fair that the Bangladeshi's aren't attacking and giving away free runs? Honestly!

Never been bored watching a Test Match? You've never seen Sanjay Bangar bat have you?

I sometimes wonder what Rik would have made of Geoff Boycott, Brian Close, Trevor Bailey and one or two others I could care to mention.
