Tbf the man showed heart (and a lack of brains) when he kept batting after being hit on the head.

That's probably the only good thing I have to say though.

Didn't expect much more from them after Shakib went out and Tamim got injured tbhThey are massively dependant on them. Losing your two best batsmen and your best bowler would be brutal for any team, much less a team with as few quality players as Bangladesh.
Said the same thing during the Aus-BD series and ***** started pouncing on me.

It's because you and OS are wrong but I cbf doing this discussion again.

Safe to say BD let themselves down in several ways here. The biggest concern for me is poor leadership. If you start a game already waving the white flag then it's hardly going to get any better. A complete lack of faith in themselves and in their skills away from home.

Sure they probably would have lost even if they were confident and made better selections and decisions, but atleast then they're giving themselves a chance. It's like they're shooting themselves in the foot before the race begins so that they have an excuse for why they finished last. It's pathetic and is honestly the biggest thing holding them back now.

I'd have thought the biggest thing holding them back is that they're absolute **** in these conditions

Bangladesh just played poorly. The first test showed a very real disbelief in their own abilities, because that was a slow, low dry pitch and yet they treated it as a green viper, purely because that is what they expected. The second test was just a total capitulation on their part, It would probably have been better for them to spend some time in SA playing more warm-up games than they did. I dont know what the game plan was, but should have stuck to their strengths with the spinners rather than picking 2nd rate seamers. They have some potentially decent quality batsmen. Still dont know why Shakib took a break considering Bangladesh are going into some down time now.

BD is *** in seaming pitches but this time they can't even give that excuse because pitches were batting friendly esp in first test. In second test, it got quicker by the days but was something similar in first day.

Yes to play just one warm-up game in conditions very different to what you're used to is not going to prepare the side for what is in store. They were already huge underdogs going into this series but they conceded even more of an advantage by not giving themselves a chance to formulate plans, both as a team and individually, in these conditions.

As for Shakib, well that was just a crazy decision and he should be forced to watch how his mates have struggled on this tour and he has just been sat at home, resting! Unless there's more to this than is common knowledge. I'm sure the result would still have been the same, but he would certainly have made Bangladesh more competitive.

This time they were bounce bunnies. You don't require seam movement against Bangla if you have bounce.

Good old Robbie doing what he does best - so many variations of slower balls (I give him that)

But he could always have done with a salad or two.

Looking at some of the South African boys that come over to play in CC, Richard Levi and Rory Kleinveldt spring to mind, the food must be difficult to turn down in SA!

It's called braai vleis :D

Certainly got to realise when your nicknames are The Bear and The Big Show as it is with Levi & Rory then you need a salad or 2.

But I was following Levi on twitter and a lot of Northants fans kept asking him and Duckett what that large box was on the boundary edge.

And of all things it was a massive box of cookies. Not sure if that is normal in a FC game over there !

Hope they pick that guy. I've rarely seen a fat/unfit SA cricketer. They always seemed so athletic, even their '90s guys.
