Joined now and confused about the pitch. By looking at the score how mushfiq is bowling again? Faf said majority captains would bat first. So I am baffled at us bowling again.
Even if he hadn't been a poor captain overall previously (and we all know he has), it was pretty much a sackable decision IMO, especially after what happened in the first Test. Complete disgrace.

Never thought I'd see the day where Bangladesh would use short ball tactics somewhat effectively

I am shocked at the incompetency. I have never seen such a poor captain in my entire life. He has no leadership qualities and his mind is full of preconceived notions. I honestly dont know how he is still the captain.

Haha, it worked!

Roy's execution has been pretty funny though. He's trying to set them up with the short one, but he either gets slapped for 4 or they get a single. Poor dude.

Bowling spin in SA can be really hard. Guess that is why Symcox , Boje, Harris, Henderson , Robbie P, Eksteen average what they did.

Don't think the Bangers should have protected Mehedi. He needs to become a better all round bowler and can only learn from playing.

Good day for SA, against a pretty weak attack on a flat pitch... but did everything they needed.

Bavuma must be under serious pressure with ABdV coming back, I am really starting to think that Phehlukwayo is in the team to get numbers up while we can. Sad as that is, but we might as well do it against Bang.

Very much so. It's highly unlikely he'll ever get a better opportunity to cash in, and this weird tendency that he has to score more runs when the team's under pressure is probably going to count against him, especially if Elgar and Markram can establish themselves as a consistent opening partnership, meaning that there'll be fewer occasions where Bavuma might be called upon to do a rescue act.

Faf has a good chance on Day 2 to reach his highest Test score.

Any update on Kayes - can he bat or is Das going to have to open once again.

Good to see that Bangladesh have not only not learnt anything from the last test but have actually doubled down on their mistakes. Picking Rubel, bowling first, rubbish handling of the bowlers and so on.

Walsh would be best off by bowling himself I think.

Well Shakib is a genius for protecting his averages. I suppose he knew his mate mushifiqur was braindead.

Another good 100 from mighty Hash. I want him to get his avg above 50 again and keep it there.... he deserves to end his career with a 50+ avg and distinction as a SA ATG.
