Haha. I think his batting has deteriorated
Nah, it's jut a case of New Zealand rarely being in much trouble with the bat so his biggest skill is rendered a bit irrelevant.

Was a pretty pointless innings but they're 6/660 now, no real damage was done given it's still halfway in Day 3.

Has [Watling] played a important part in 3 wins this season, when NZ was in a difficult position.

59 (156) in 1st test in UAE, 3rd innings, came in when NZ 4-103 and still needed another 34 runs to make Pak bat again.

77* (250) in 3rd test in UAE, 1st innings, came in when NZ 4-72.

46 (90) vs SL on a green pitch at Hagley Oval, 1st innings, came in when NZ 4-36, then added 108 with Southee to boost NZ to 178 (and then SL rolled for 104).

But in each innings was overshadowed by his partner (Nicholls, Williamson, Southee), so didn't make the headlines. And yes, he is not so good at downhill skiing as some others.

Yeah he did go through a quiet patch for a handful of tests (which in NZ's case, might mean 18 months), but the UAE series was a welcome return to form for him.

All three brilliant important knocks that I don't think any of the challengers for his position could have done.

CDG trying to get to 100 before Williamson gets to 200, here.

Sorry, why the **** would you declare now when Colin has an easy ton in a session offing? I hate it when captains still manage to be brainless in this sort of situation. You don't need 240 overs to bowl out a side.

Yeah I feel for CDG there ... wouldn't have taken him long to get there, either.

True, would be good for the crowd too. I still remember Atherton declaring on Hick when he was on 98. Although, in that case he probably should have declared earlier.

The worst part about this declaration is that KW considers his milestone more important than a teammates. Dire

I have absolutely no problem with the declaration timing.

This looks like batting practice for Tamim Iqbal - this pitch is just so even-paced. If Bangladesh bat well they really should be able to keep NZ in the field for a long time. It should be difficult to get ten wickets on this.

Wagner is gonna have to do it all himself.

I wonder if Astle will get an over or two sometime today?
