***official***Bangladesh tour of india - 19september -12 october 2024

International Regular
I’d believe it.

A little misleading considering his career isn’t finished.

Other bowlers after their 150th wicket who deserve a mention (off the top of my head, probs forgot some):

Waqar 27 matches 154 @ 18.35
Botham 29 matches 151 @ 19.39
Pollock 50 matches 210 @ 19.86
Lindwall 37 matches 154 @ 19.88
Davidson 37 matches 153 @ 20.05
Marshall 56 matches 281 @ 20.29
Garner 43 matches 196 @ 20.40
Ambrose 46 matches 214 @ 20.51
Is it just me or does Pollock not seem to get the credit he deserves, when put up against the non Sobers/Kallis ATG all rounders.

Imran, Dev, Botham and Hadlee all get more credit. Ditto Jadeja/Ashwin.

Too young to say he will be HTBish. Just 22.

Still a lot more evolution left. Batsmen hit peak at late 20s.
Oh yeah for sure. Not making any HTB calls now but I'm just taking a position that he'll be great at home at the minimum. The last time I felt this about anyone was when Pujara was early in his career.

Kind of weird that Ashwin has more Series Awards than Match, only Strauss has similar and his are even weirder.

Crazy that Kallis has that many POM and so few MOS in comparison
It's a quirk that all rounders share. They can fly under the series while still making steady contributions and at the end of it, their aggregate looks heftier than any of the specialists.

The same logic often applies to individual matches especially where there are no standout performers but an all rounder's aggregate performance taken as a whole looks outright game changing retrospectively.

And yet the best all rounder since these awards began seems to have the opposite of this. Kallis was a law unto himself.
