*Official* Bangladesh in Zimbabwe 2021 (full tour)

He looked pretty handy in NZ, surprised he doesn’t play more.
Jayed is a new ball specialist, more or less. He swings the red cherry both ways but bowls skiddy, straight, medium pace half volleys with the old ball, and gets absolutely pumped when they make him bowl with it. I've actually seen him get a little bit of reverse once, tbf, but he still got pumped when it was happening.

In a way that's kind of perfect for Bangladesh though. They pick 2-3 spinners every home game who are comfortably their best bowlers. Someone who can be threatening swinging the new ball and then stand at fine leg until the next one while the spinners weave a web is actually really ideal.

They still don't like him though because they want phaaaaast bowlers even though they aren't willing to address their conditions in such a way as to help or encourage their development.

The pace attack BD had in that day night test in Kolkata was pretty decent. Are they still around?
Ebadot is still in and is Rubelesque levels bad. Al Amin is totally meh and averages above 60 without any signs of being good. Abu Jayed is probably their best alongside Taskin in red ball, but as PEWS said, they're just obsessed with pace and that's just nonsensical esp given the tracks in BD.

Zim looking really bad, collapsed after a strong start. Good signs for BD, series vs Oz is gonna be interesting. Nurul esp looks like the firepower they were missing tbh.

Zim could have put some proper pressure on us if they'd affected any of the 4 or 5 run outs they stuffed up, several of them in farcical fashion. Ngarava's wayward bowling also really undermined the rest of the attack.

I do like Ngarava. He generates decent pace when he finds his rhythm and his height could also be a real weapon if he used it better. But if he's going to bowl short, he's got to commit to banging it in closer to his own half of the pitch. When he does, he generates steep bounce and always looks like he could get a top edge but at the moment he's just bowling too much half-track fodder for batsmen to smash off the back foot.

His control over line is terrible though, and I suspect it has something to do with his action. I'm not an expert, but when he's struggling he does seem to drop his front arm too early.

He played the situation though, on that pitch you could happily go at 10 an over if there's an imperative to.

This will hopefully be a fun chase to watch.

Dunno mate, depends how the pitch plays really. If it hasn't changed much since last time, they needed more runs maybe.

Gah, always an annoying way to lose a wicket. Watching Naim is half the reason I'm tuning in tbh

Excited to see how Mahedi goes. I can't actually remember watching him play before but people seem to rate him.
