I know we get accused of being perpetually pessimistic as NZ fans, but how are we going to compete with good sides bowling only one length with any consistency - short - and catching like the U12Bs?
Dunno why it phased me so much but the thing that annoyed me most today was Southee bowling to Mehedi when he first came to the crease. The guy was averaging 1 from six innings. What does Gormless Tim do? Goes wide on the crease second ball and tries to bowl a pitch leg hit off miracle ball, and gives Mehedi a freebee. Honestly. He'll probably think he's Christmas after two leg side strangles and a couple of short balls that decent players would have no problem dealing with, when in essence he bowled pretty rubbish before lunch and only vaguely improved from there.

He needs to give up gloves in tests. Too much pressure wkeeping, captaining and batting and he plays all formats. About time.

So Mustafiz is still with the team. It's not adding up. If he's injured then why he's still travelling with the team and not sent home?

Yeah Nurul in for Mahmudullah when everyone is back from injury IMO. Mushfiqur has the technique to bat four if he's not overburdened with keeping and captaincy on top of that.
I think Mahmudullah is too good not to eventually be back but he's been playing absolutely stupid cricket in Tests for a while now; it's cringe-worthy.

Sabbir in the batting spot. Last spot to Taijul in Asia/WI and (reluctantly) Kamrul for now outside there. Might even be able to go for extra batting (Moses) in place of Taskin at home if the pitches are going to be like what we saw against England.
