*Official* Bangladesh in New Zealand 2016/2017

You can still appreciate individual performances in a match though.

God, we haven't exactly been great over the years. I would have stopped watching years ago if my interest in cricket and the Blackcaps was entirely determined by how competitive the games were.

Absolutely terrible victory there for New Zealand by 6 wickets with 2 overs to spare, and a career high score from our captain and star player.

God we were rubbish.

Look at who the opposition is.. This is like an adult caning primary school children and raising his bat at each milestone.

Kane lucky not to be caught on the boundary rope twice.

Colin de Grandhomme is MOTM for mine, but Kane will get it because the commentators are on the KW bandwagon

We never looked comfortable out there till Colin came out to bat.

Easily the MOTM, his figures of 1/23 make it a clear cut decision.

Williamson should have immediately retired from all forms of cricket when he was almost caught, flaming disgraceful.

Yeah, totally dire. He makes it look as if batsmen often need to play risky shots in T20 matches.
Stop with the sarcasm...

The dude just doesn't have the gears or the power to clear the fence consistently... the fact he's struggling on NZ grounds is embarrassing..You can't have an opener bat at 100-110 for the 50 runs then look to accelerate, that puts way too much pressure on the others to do the scoring...This isn't the first time either, he played a shocker at Eden Park against Pakistan last year. We could have been in trouble if he had been caught on the ropes, and his whole innings would have been a waste that only served to put NZ into a hole.

It was a well-paced innings chasing a low target. The required rate never got out of control and we always had plenty of wickets in hand.

I honestly don't know how you guys can be so upset after such a comfortable, professional victory.

When you've got hit and miss players like Munro, Anderson, Ronchi, etc. It's really not a bad thing to have a more reliable guy in your team, even if he's generally operating more around 120-130ish SR.

120-130 is being generous, he usually finishes with that. He's often around 100-110 for more than 90% of his innings and puts pressure on the hitters to hit from the get-go.

Or more accurately, he complements them well by contributing consistent runs while they bring the boundary clearing ability. If he was such a burden like you say, we wouldn't be ranked #1.

Hmm, does anyone actually take the rankings seriously in T20s? IIRC they throw up some very odd results and are extremely volatile.

We struggled to chase 140 against minnows on one of our miniature sized grounds....

Imagine what happens the moment we're set 180 or 200 against a good side, Kane is going to become a huge burden for the team.

He isn't cut out for the format, I don't understand why others can't see that.

His method of scoring may work when chasing small totals, but it's a woeful way to play against better sides who have a good total on the board.

Not really, although they are a little more meaningful following a world cup tournament.

All said, I'd rather be no. 1 than any other position.
