*Official* Bangladesh in New Zealand 2016/2017

Bangladesh batsman only need to worry about 2 bowlers – Boult and Southee. New Zealand batsman on the other hand need to worry about 3 bowlers – Fizz, Taskin and Shakib. New Zealand spinners are not in the calibre of Bangladesh's, so Bangladesh batsman should smash them for 6s. New Zealand do have the superior batsman in Guptill and Kane, but the rest are not better than Bangladesh's. Note: I'm talking about ODIs here.
If you don't think Bangladesh's batsmen need to worry about Matt Henry, then you haven't watched a single ODI played in New Zealand in the past 3 years (which I'm granting is likely).

Yeah, Henry has been superb in NZ in recent seasons.

I'm also expecting we'll persist with Ferguson. Obviously he's far from the finished product and is a bit hit-and-miss to say the least, but his good deliveries caused a few problems to some quality Australian batsmen.

Ferguson to take a bunch of wickets if he get's game time. The thought of 150Kms on foreign pitches is enough to get the Banga top order wobbling.

I think you are severely under estimating the difference in conditions here. India and Pakistan struggle here, Sri Lanka get demolished. Your comments are a lot more true if they were playing in Bangladesh, however.

Anyone know when the squad is to be named? NZC have shot themselves in the foot with the Domestic Scheduling, way to many gaps with no cricket. This is when guys need to be playing and proving themselves, not having 5 day breaks between hit and giggle crap.

This is why I have a feeling Nicholl's will be renamed.. I'd say take a risk and bring in Will Young. We know he's good, but hasn't had a great start this season. Give him a chance, and see what he's got.

I think people are underestimating how complete a touring outfit Bangladesh are in comparison to Sri Lanka these days.

They're still likely to go and get smashed in all the games, but they've got enough in them to take matches away from us.

We'll soon see, I don't think they'll do as well as SL who managed to win an ODI here last summer if my memory serves. Time will tell.

Hope mushfiq improves. A coach has been hired for his atrocity.

The Bangladesh national team will be availing the services of a wicket-keeping specialist during their 10-day preparatory camp in Australia.

According to the chairman of Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB's) cricket operations Akram Khan, there will be a focus on wicket-keeping, while another individual was hired to provide throwdowns for the batsmen.

“The decision was taken as per the requirements of the team management. The wicket-keeping specialist will obviously focus on keeping, while the other specialist will help the batsmen bat at the nets,” Akram told The Daily Star yesterday.

“Our main target is to help the national team acclimatise to the conditions as quickly as possible. And as a result, we will take all the steps that will help us do that,” he added.

The first batch of cricketers who had left for Australia on November 8, attended their first training session at the Blacktown International Sports Park in Sydney yesterday.

The second batch of cricketers, including the likes of Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah Riyad and a host of others, reached Sydney yesterday evening.

Over the next 10 days, aside from having training sessions, the Bangladeshi cricketers will also play two T20 games against two teams from the Big Bash League.

Meanwhile, Shakib Al Hasan, who was supposed to leave with the second group of cricketers on Saturday, left for Sydney last night after getting an extra day off.

After the 10-day camp in Sydney, the Tigers will leave for New Zealand where they will play three ODIs, three T20Is and two Tests.

This series is interesting no doubt. If New Zealand were to tour Bangladesh, then obviously they will lose all the matches including the test series: it's of no surprise why they decided to not tour again any-time soon. Bangladesh actually did well in those world cup games held in New Zealand especially with the bat. Small grounds favours the Bangladesh batsman: I'm sure someone such as Shabbir will be licking his lips. If conditions aid swing, then it's safe to say New Zealand are the firm favourites to win. I remember how both Tamim and Imrul were unable to score in the first 7-8 overs against Southeee and Boult due to the vicious swing they were generating. I'm sure that experience will help Tamim and Imrul: they are surely aware of that game.

Hesson reportedly backing his current ODI Squad plus some Black Caps returning from injury to do the business v Bangladesh . NZ potentially requires a newT20i Captain and its theT20 squad which may see new blood.

Selection of the NZ XI to play Bangladesh next week ,at Cobham Oval , could be a guide .
Southee to be appointed captain of our T20 side in an attempt to send out a message of 'hey, you think Kane is an unfit captain...check this out'. Not that I particularly care about T20 internationals, mind you, so play on.

With the new T20 Tri series with Oz and England in early 2018 and the ICC T20 WC cycle to keep in mind NZC might opt for a new look T20 Squad v Bangladesh who play a lot of T20. The just concluded BPL T 20 boasted more marqee players than the Super Smash and has a higher profile globally. Like Rugby Sevens T20 is fast and furious and places special demands on cricket Captaincy as well.

I hope they do opt for a new squad, I'm all for it. Make it the place to introduce people to international cricket - ie Bruce.

I've never seen any sign that Tim Southee is a leader, a tactician, or even in fact has a functioning central nervous system at all.

The Tri Series formula should be a success and could lead on to a Rugby Sevens style international World Circuit if marketed well. The Choice ultimately is between ICC led International T 20 v business led EPL style Franchise T20. NZC CEO is excited.

NZ Cricket boss happy with decision to give up Chappell-Hadlee matches to co-host T20 tri-series | Stuff.co.nz

Will the NZC selectors be as excited and innovative with their T20 Squad v Bangladesh thereby creating a Sevens Squad like Pathway to ODI and Test cricket. NZ will lose T20 games they might arguably win but the small NZ talent pool will be enhanced.

He was pretty excited about the return of the Chappell-Hadlee this time last year, only to give it away barely 12 months later.

Can't say he's unwilling to change his mind on things though!
