Yeah, it's not his tactics that bother me so much, although I do find he is overly defensive at times & the sooner we forget about our display with ball & in the field in Aust, the better. It's the fact I think we'd get much better value out of him as purely our premier Test batsman.
I don't think you can say that that's the case with any confidence though. KW's numbers were already going downhill before his taking over the role of the captaincy. Throw in the fact that he's been batting against a higher standard of bowling in the last 12 months (SA in SA, India in India, Pakistan), and I really don't think you can conclude that the captaincy is the sole or even the primary cause of his decline in output.

Heh, Tanbir is only 25 (if Cricinfo can be believed). Makes me feel slightly better about my own receding hairline.

Each to their own, but a little strange you'd feel the need to broadcast it to everyone as opposed to quietly ignoring and leaving it there.
Just because I have them on ignore doesn't mean I don't find it incredibly irritating when they clutter up every NZ thread with their negative garbage.

Yeah it's a bit puzzling to me - KW has captained pretty much every team he's ever played in as far as I know, and has also been the premier bat for that team as well, often with an enormous gap to the next best. Seems strange that that responsibility now appears to be weighing on him, when it never has in the past.

I suppose one different aspect could be the media duties - he doesn't seem the type to enjoy the attention, so that could be affecting him a bit.
Yup, it's a different game internationally, I'm not even sure he'll have any problem with the media aspect of the job since he's quite a good clear communicator, it's simply that he no longer appear to bat with a clear mind, which was one of his great strengths.

So what would be a competitive score? I wonder if we'll get the same early stickiness Bangladesh exploited so well.

Kane is just playing the ball so bloody early, which I doubt he's done since he was 5. Only he knows why. I'm not a fan of his captaincy but I'm also prepared to give him the summer to grow further into it.

I feel it's quite clear the captaincy has impacted his batting early doors, & not just purely based on output either, but how he's looked at the crease of late.

Looks that way, although it could be coincidental with a form slump.

These part-time rubbish spinners need to travel.

While I admit KW does look out of touch, his stats don't seem to be doing too badly as captain:

Tests:
As captain: 8 matches at 50.91
Not as captain: 48 matches at 49.23

ODIs:
As captain: 29 matches at 47.11
Not as captain: 74 matches at 45.13

T20Is:
As captain: 17 matches at 36.33
Not as captain: 18 matches at 32.46

So am I, it's just frustrating since i felt this would happen as soon as we got word of Bmac's retirement.

Out of interest, can you post his Test numbers exclusing Zim?

You would think that a good batting coach would be working with him on this ....

Agree with the commentators, great test to see if Munro has a low-risk game and can score 30 off 40 without taking undue risks in the next 10-12 overs.
