Is there likely to be enough light for NZ to claim the extra half hour and put this sorry outfit away tonight, thereby visiting upon them the flogging they so richly deserve?
Should be, not much cloud to speak of.

Yeah maybe wait until you've seen a guy for more than 5 minutes in future before deriding followers of domestic cricket as "know it alls" with no clue what they're talking about.
Although tbf, I recall you agreeing with me when I wrote something to the effect of him showing more in one hour of opening batting than Guptill did in his career, so I wouldn't be overly smug just quietly.

Hoping Raval will do well this innings - looking good so far. He's got some flaws, but I reckon he's worth persevering with.

He is looking tighter this innings, & while I'm not 100% convinced of him, he deserves a decent run.

Let's not forget how desperate we were to replace Guptill just a couple of months back.

Surely we're not close enough to the target for the umps to consider the extra 30 mins.

My problem wasn't so much with your views on Raval as with the unedifying and antagonistic gloating that followed it. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

Drops too many for my liking Raval, seems a 70% slipper, which ain't quite good enough.

Incidentally, Tim Mach was an underrated slipper, can't recall him shelling many in his short career.

Edit: Poor Raval, that uncertainty outside off is common with him.

Of course, that reaction was designed to match the level of certainty that he was a total hack and wouldn't be as good as Guptill. It wasn't subtle on the fence stuff either, it was countless references to Eden park no. 2 & constant ridicule and intolerance to any suggestions that he might be given an opportunity. You may have missed that bit, otherwise there'd be no reason to gloat.

Not dissimilar to my reaction when Watling, who we've been told for years should be in the NZ ODI side, looked completely ineffective & superfluous to the batting line-up against Australia. Although perhaps I didn't quite give that one as big a whack.

Hopefully means he isnt playing the tests vs south africa. He is the definition of a bits andpieces test player. I dont know why he has got so many chances
Errr because he keeps it tight, takes wickets when conditions suit, and contributes in the lower order. He's exactly what nz realistically can hope to get out of a finger spinner.
