Well Cooper can't play the next game he signed a contract,as did Cosgrove,thats why Botha not playing.
I gather the cheque book would definitely come out next season.

I would guess Cooper's status as an overseas player/whatever wouldn't start until April, so he should be fine for the rest of this season. I'm not really sure if Cooper can play as a local in England and then play as a local here next season though.

They're all actually fine to play for the rest of this season. Botha didn't play because they just decided not to pick him.

Which is weird, really. If I were any non-SA team, I'd be trying to convince him to play ODers at least next season. Legitimate ODI prospect when he qualifies IMO.

He'll be 37 at the next World Cup though, and ODIs are increasingly just about building to those.

He could play for Canberra Comets ny if Comets get in which looks likely.
I don't blame him about S Africa not a safe place to live in parts.

He can still bowl off spin at 37 FFS. Not *that* old by spin standards.

They'll probably pick Boyce/Muirhead, but that doesn't prevent Botha from being a useful guy to potentially have around :p
