Yeah, not buying it. If he was that good, he'd be bowling more. QLD is one of the few states which, historically, has always given even mediocre spinners a decent go.
One of reason why Hauritz left originally was that when he played FC cricket he barely got bowl. Personally reckon Queensland are pretty poor at giving spinner a decent bowl in the games. They pick them regularly in the side, but most of the time they barely bowl an over.

Had a numpty offie who snagged an ODI or two too, didn't they? Was thought to 'jerk' a little?
Your thinking Geoff Foley I'd say. Couple of Aussie A games from memory but that was about it. Classic Mercantile Mutual Cup all rounder - straight breaks with the ball and left handed nudger with the bat.

Rob - yep Anderson it was. Apparently not the worst bowler.

I can't even think of that many examples, but if asked me to describe what a Mercantile Mutual Cup all rounder was I'd have probably said something very similar.

I remember Folley was no balled once in a Sheffield Shield game. I don't know why the umpire bothered, one of the most docile slow bowlers to ever play at that level.

Another Folley sidenote. Scored 155 on debut against Pakistan with an attack of Imran, Aaqib Javeed, Waqar and Qadir. Bowled a few overs and dismissed Imran.

I always think of Scott Kremerskothen when I eat a McChicken, because back in the day when I was starting to get really involved into my support of domestic cricket I'd eat a McChicken near enough every Saturday afternoon while the MMC was on, and I randomly decided I was going to 'support' him. He was a bit different to the description in that he was a bit of a slogger rather than a nudger and a nude ball med bowler rather than a straight breaker, but he still fits the general theme.

Pretty sure it was his only FC hundred yeah? Domestic stalwart, possibly picked for his fielding as much as anything.

They eventually got phased out for Butterworth, who the Tasmanian faithful at the time seemed to think was their next Test batting hope, bowling a few overs here or there in one day cricket. He batted #3 early on. Funny how things work out sometimes.
