Things are going from bad to worse for Victoria, Harwood has just injured himself, I hope it's nothing serious as he was really starting to push for Australian selection. Western Australia are currently 2/394, Rogers on 214 and North on 119.

I know Warney talked him up as a chance to go to South Africa before the selectors chose Stuart Clark but I think they have him pegged as a bowler without enough tricks for international level. Like Griffith he has been consistently good in the pura cup over a few years so I can't really see them suddenly changing their mind and picking him. Has he even played for Australia A lately?

A lot will depend on when Gilly calls it quits in the test arena. If he goes until say 2008, the selectors could go with Hartley (the genuine keeper of the lot imo, including haddin) because he's a longer term option than Haddin.

Western Australia looking very impressive at 523/2. Chris Rogers on 247* and Marcus North on 200*. When Hayden and Langer retire do you think Rogers might get a crack?

We're lucky to have such great batting depth. Both of these guys did very well in County Cricket too. North averaged 90 something and Rogers averaged 65. Woo.

They're both very good players and they're scoring runs at the right time. Australia's top 6 is yet to be setelled for the first Ashes test and any batsman scoring heavily is a chance.

Rogers has played for Australia A, so is probably a good chance of replacing either Langer or Hayden.

Rogers is a definite chance if Hayden retires sometime next year, a lot will depend on how much longer Haydos plays for though. If he continues for another 3/4 years (quite possible if he keeps form), Rogers may be overlooked simply because of the age factor.

Screw Marsh, Rogers is the way of the future. :p

Seriously though, Rogers, North, Marsh, Voges, Ronchi and Ervine are all quality bats, with Ronchi being a fantastic wicket-keeper. Magoffin, Edmonson and Dorey are an awesome pace trio. All they lack is a quality spinner, and I guess they might look to Heal to see how he goes.
So you have bagged SA throughout this page and you clearly like WA

Should be good come game time between these teams then.

SA have close to the best squad of players, but it will come down to keeping players fit, not getting call-ups and keeping cossie, elliott, blewy and fergy in form.
